Questions

How do I write an amount in words on a cheque?

Write the amount in words, then the name of the currency. Add "only" before it and after it, so nobody can add to it. The cheque style does this for you.

What is the difference between riyals and pounds?

The Saudi riyal has 100 halalas. The Egyptian pound has 100 piastres. A halala is feminine and a piastre is masculine, so the number changes in Arabic.

Why does the number change from 3 to 10?

In Arabic, the numbers from 3 to 10 take the opposite gender of the thing that they count. The thing that they count is plural. Example: three riyals and three halalas.

When do I write maia and when do I write mia?

Both spellings of "hundred" are correct. Many banks write the first one. Turn on the second one if your bank prefers it.

Does the tool save the amount that I type?

No. The tool works in your browser and does not send the amount to a server. It sends one anonymous count that does not have the amount.
